Tenuta Sant’Antonio Antonio Castagnedi Amarone della Valpolicella 2007

8.4 /10

The Castagnedi brothers’ principal Amarone, dedicated to their father, made from appassimento-dried Corvina, Rondinella and supporting varieties and aged in oak. Ruby-garnet in the glass, with a nose of ripe and dried red and black fruit — cherry, plum, raisin — woven with liquorice, black pepper, baking spice and a hint of chocolate. Powerful yet balanced and elegant on the palate, full-flavoured with round tannins and a warming softness. A wine for rich meat dishes and mature cheeses.
