Mas de Lavail Terre d’Ardoise Vieilles Vignes Carignan Rouge 2016

Mas de Lavail’s old-vine Carignan from Maury (Côtes Catalanes). Deep red with developing tile-coloured glints, it shows intense dark fruit alongside undergrowth, olive, liquorice (Zan) and lightly toasted notes. The palate is fleshy and ample, drawing on tight, supple tannins to develop with elegance and length. A powerful, characterful southern red for poultry in sauce and roasted or grilled meats; serve around 18°C.
