Gurashvili’s Family Vineyards Saperavi Dry Red 2017

A traditional qvevri Saperavi from the Gurashvili family in Kakheti, Georgia — hand-harvested, fermented and macerated on skins in clay qvevri using native yeasts. Deep pomegranate-red, with a pure Saperavi nose of blackberry, cherry, mocha and spice. Dense and full-bodied on the palate, with the firm tannic structure that qvevri vinification gives, juicy ripe fruit and well-balanced acidity on a lengthy finish. Made for rich, hearty meat dishes.
